roof garden for Rock & Rose Landscapes in San Francisco Poised atop an urban building in downtown San Francisco, our roof garden beautifully exhibits the best landscaping and sustainable design practices. Rock & Rose Landscapes turned this unused roof into a multi-dimensional, green space that intimately connects an urban environment with nature. Our designer carefully planned a green roof layout with native plants that excel in coastal climates, with low water needs and high impact. The materials were carefully chosen for their durability, and included high-quality reclaimed wood for raised planters and permeable pavers to assist with drainage while still tying in a natural aesthetic. One of the challenges posed by this roof garden was the concern of modifying the existing roof structure. Our team performed an assessment and worked closely with the engineers to review and diagram all of the proposed elements to ensure safety and protection of the structure. The end result is a beautiful, lush, multi-level garden of colors including perennials, herbs, grasses that sway with the wind, and inviting seating areas for relaxation and gathering with lighting that enhances the garden feel in the evenings as your clients enjoy that outdoor experience. Needless to say, our client was thrilled they were leaving with a beautiful roof garden, complimenting us on the space and expressing gratitude for a new space that increases their lifestyle and has a role in the urban environmental system. The roof garden is a fantastic illustration of the quality work Rock & Rose Landscapes provides, as well as our creativity and passion for our s and the environment in urban downtown San Francisco.
