About This Project

Cozy Hideaway This landscaping , called "Cozy Hideaway," was completed for a Rockford, IL, family by Lawncare by Walter, Inc. The modest backyard was transformed into a peace retreat. Our team carefully planned everything from native plantings to stone pathways to the pergola to create the welcoming space that would bring you out to enjoy it all. We used good quality materials and chose local stone for the pathways which are highly durable and blend well with nature. An eye-catching plant palette of low-maintenance perennials and shrubs, each well-adapted to the local climate, ensured that garden visitors, too, would be drawn into the 45 acres of rooftop meadows. It brings a thoughtful approach that improves biodiversity and provides color and interest throughout the year. The yard we worked in was not completely level. The natural topography also needed to be tamed by our team of landscapers who expertly graded the area into tiered planting beds that bring both depth and interest to the landscape. An efficient irrigation system installation ensured the plants would thrive even in drought. It ended with the construction of a beautiful wooden pergola, which is a centerpiece of the garden & creates a space to meet and experience outdoors. The outcome is a beautiful yet functional space, turning the outdoors into an actual “Cozy Hideaway.” Now the happy homeowners have a little oasis of tranquility outside their back door, all built by Lawncare by Walter, Inc. exactly the way they wanted, in the quality to which we've become known throughout Belvidere, Cherry Valley, and beyond.
