Just completed for a lovely family in Bethesda, MD, our latest , `Entertaining in the Backyard,` is an example of our passion for quality and client satisfaction. This was a transformation of a previously unoccupied yard to a lively entertaining hub. Our process started with an in-depth analysis of the site to gain insight into the challenges the sloping topography and existing vegetation presented. Our team expertly graded the land to provide separate spaces for dining, lounging and playing but ensured that the natural beauty of existing trees are preserved. At the centre of the landscape is the two-slab, multi-level custom bluestone patio that by design, connects the indoor living to the outdoor. The patio comes furnished with classy seating arrangements, ideal for hosting, as well as an outdoor kitchen with top-end stainless-steel appliances and granite countertops that will delight the chefs in the crowd. Knowing this family wants to enjoy their outdoor living space year-round, we added a beautiful fire pit area and planted low-maintenance plantings that bloom throughout the seasons to provide year-round color and interest. We chose a lot of native plants which offer benefits to the local ecosystem and help to keep house upkeep to a minimum so that this family can enjoy their space more and work in it less. So, stormwater runoff ended up being one of the challenges that both Jesse and Jessica tackled with effective drainage systems and the addition of permeable pavers that promote water infiltration and diminish erosion. This conscientious method preserves the visual aspect of the environment while making it environmentally sustainable. So, at the end we have a gorgeous backyard showing how an inviting and functional entertaining space that the client envisioned. The harmony of fine design, quality materials, and appropriate landscaping is a joy not only to the owners but also significant to this neighborhood.
