Charleston Inspired Garden, Chevy Chase Completed By: Bethesda Garden Design LLC Located in Chevy Chase, the 'Charleston Inspired Garden' of Bethesda Garden Design LLC captures the timeless warmth and character of traditional southern landscapes while blending seamlessly with the surrounding character of the local landscape. An absolutely gorgeous traditional-meets-modern transformation that creates an oasis for the homeowners. The draws on Charleston's famous gardens with abundant, layered plantings of magnolias, azaleas and camellias. We added ornamental grasses and seasonal flowers for color and texture throughout the seasons. Locally quarried natural stone path brings rustic charm, durability and sustainability in landscape design. My biggest challenge was working with the land because it is a sloping property so it took some ingenuity to work with this for drainage and erosion issues. The integration of the tiered flower beds and retaining wall created by our team complimented the beauty and functionality of the finished home. This reclaimed-brick retaining wall offers utility as well as a bit of garden history. A centerpiecethe architecture of a gazebomade from cedar, calls for relaxation and gatheringit acts as a focal point and ties to the architectural style characteristic of Charleston. Breathe the jasmine and climbing roses in the gazebo your ideal gathering point for coffee in the morning or hanging in the evening. In the end we have an incredible garden that delighted our clients and enhanced the landscape of Chevy Chase. My clients told me how the garden had become a haven for family and friends, a space for memories to be created in the presence of nature.
