DC Terraced Front Slope The DC Terraced Front Slope by Earth Essence Designs took a difficult front yard area and created a beautiful landscaping feature that adds curb appeal, as well as a practical solution for handling the water runoff. This landscape , located in the heart of Washington, DC, showcases our quality and workmanship. The work entailed series of terraces that gracefully follow the propertys natural topography. We made sure that the retain walls were strong enough and used stones which can easily blend with the local architecture. We picked a place for native plants, like decorative grasses and blooming perennials that will maintain biodiversity but need little maintenance. Drainage is a problem that comes with almost any sloped landscape, and this was one of the major challenges we faced. We designed and installed the latest drainage system that harvest excess water and guided it away from the property and towards the plants that need it while also preventing erosion from occurring. This means that the design complex in question integrates function and design so that there is a continued flow of water and the vegetation is always rich and colorful. The grand outcome takes form as a beautiful stepped hillside, fulfilling the clients functional accessibility requirements, while also becoming a calming getaway for any family or friends to foster their outside experience. The tear-shaped focuss of the terrace front slope forms a major new focal point of the property, demonstrating the aesthetic taste of the client, and improving the overall aesthetic look in the whole front landscape of suburb.
