TERRACED FRONT WALK / EARTH ESSENCE DESIGNS The 'Terraced Front Walk' landscaping from Earth Essence Designs located in the heart of Bethesda. It is a representation of our efforts to uplift outdoor spaces through creativity and quality workmanship. One of our most talented teams had the difficult task of transforming a steep, sloped front yard that limited usability and visual amenity. To solve the problem, we crafted a set of refined terraced steps out of natural stone, sourced locally to perfectly match and complement the beautiful architectural elements of the home. Beautiful but long-lasting materials were selected so that the front walk will serve its purpose for a long time and also withstand the elements. The terraced approach contributes to a visual interest and ecological system with native plantings that are low care, high biodiversity. There were no flowers anywhere along either side of the front walk leading up to the bold green door which, you may recall, easily shoved our colourful red doorhouse aside in terms of curb appeal with its painted cheerfulness148. Carefully planned, lighting blended into the design, softly glowing on the pathway, bringing safety at night and providing warm ambiance simultaneously. The end result: a gorgeous front walk that not only serves a function to the homeowners but beautifies the space and blooms a new focal point of the property from once an inconspicuous corner of the yard! The client was delighted with the result, commenting on the improved access and the stunning look that have enhanced the homes street appeal.
