Discussion: Montclair Residence KDTurner Design is excited to disclose the Montclair Residence, an exquisite landscape that turned an ordinary yard into a fabulous outdoor escape. Located in Massachusetts, the reflects our relentless commitment to quality and craftsmanship and serves clients spanning Boxford, Ipswich, Newbury, Newburyport, Newton, Brookline, Marblehead, Gloucester, Beverly, Southborough, Chestnut Hill, Wellesley, Rye, Topsfield, Lexington, Wayland, Lincoln, Weston, and across New England. The required a thoughtful design process that would elevate the aesthetic and usability of the site. The client asked us to create a space that viewed harmoniously with the architecture of their home and accommodate the family with different areas to unwind and have friends over. We designed the space to include a custom stone patio, raised garden beds to grow vegetables and herbs, and a sophisticated water element as a focal point within. One of the most difficulty challenges we faced was the natural slope of the site, which required grading and soil stabilization to establish a flat base to build the patio and constructed pathways. The KDTurner Design team leveraged local stone and openly sourced natural materials whenever possible which are sympathetic to the natural environment and are durable to atmospheric conditions. The garden beds included only native plants of the area to promote biodiversity and less water consumption which aligned with our sustainable practice of landscaping. Together the elements create a truly stunning outcome. The stone patio is large enough for family gatherings, flowers that line the patio provide vibrant colors and pleasing aromas, and strategic outdoor lighting includes guests with delightful evenings outdoors with stars above. The water feature creates the perfect soundscape to relax and unwind after a long day; it is beauty and tranquility in each drop of water flowing.
