Del Mar, CA - Quetzal Landscapes, Inc. Quetzal Landscapes, Inc. recently wrapped up an impressive landscaping in the charming seaside town of Del Mar, CA that changed the outdoor living space at our client’s home. The design was meant to connect with the natural beauty of the immediate landscape while also providing a functional and inviting space to relax and entertain. This design includes a beautiful selection of native plants chosen for their hardiness and ability to flourish in the local climate. A selection of drought-tolerant plants was also incorporated into the design that considered both sustainability and aesthetic appeal. Flagstone pathways from the local quarry meander through the landscape, leading visitors to the focal point of the space, an outdoor gathering area with custom fire pit and seating area, designed for evening enjoyment. In consideration of the existing topography, an additional challenge was determining how to manage drainage and erosion with the design. Our team graded the landscape while placing permeable pavers and boulders as erosion barriers that accommodate beauty and function. A rain garden added to the aesthetic and management of stormwater runoff and sustainability. It was imperative that we provide quality materials for this . High-end wood for the deck and fencing was selected to ensure durability against the elements. A vibrant color palette of flowering plants was added to the garden to provide year-round color and maintain a dynamic landscape with seasonal change. The final product is a gorgeous landscape that integrates the coastal charm that Del Mar is known for and our client loves their new outdoor living space.
