Essick - La Jolla Old World Garden SP Gardens - Susanna Pagan Landscape Design is proud to announce the Essick - La Jolla Old World Garden, a stunning literal fulfillment of the classic beauty of timeless European gardens. Located in the spectacular coastal neighborhood of La Jolla, Ca., this took care and consideration of the artistry and horticultural awareness needed to create a tranquil outdoor oasis that matched the essence of the Property. The design includes a delightful assortment of native and drought-resistant plants to ensure sustainability, while enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the garden. The inclusion of traditional stone pathways made of regionally sourced flagstone gave the landscape a rustic charm and encouraged investigation. The focal point of the garden includes a stunning fountain that not only provides visual appeal but also adds auditory benefit for peaceful surroundings. The terrain presented challenges related to both functionality and aesthetics. Because the design was to flow with the existing topography in the area, grading and drainage were integrated into the design to avoid erosion. In conjunction with the challenges, our staff worked diligently to ensure each aspect of the garden looked spectacular and plausible. Antique terracotta pots and wrought iron elements enhance the Old World appeal while lighting fixtures are visually appealing and illuminate the cleansing experience of the garden and high-quality lighting that provide use throughout the year and night. Ultimately, we created a stunning oasis that evoked the clients vision to enhance their property and provide a tranquil escape to enjoy with family and friends.
