Our team provided value to the vibrant community of Atherton, Cupertino, Los Altos, and surrounding areas in creating an attractive and functional outdoor space for our clients that supported growing their own produce and enjoying quiet moments outside. The vegetable garden was the feature , including a set of raised cedar beds to improve accessibility as well as moisture and drainage. Our clients appreciated the engagement of creating organic soil blended with compost for the various heirloom tomato, herb, and other crop plantings. Sunlight and gravity were factors in determining the placement, along with considerations for an efficient drip irrigation system. Our clients could feel good conserving water while still growing a diverse set of healthy vegetables. The quiet patio, designed with beautiful natural stone pavers sourced locally, organically extended the vegetable gardening space to a relaxed area to start or end a day outdoors. Comfortable seating with a charming pergola and climbing vines provided welcome reprieve from warm afternoons. Native plants and flowering perennial plants were included in landscaping to create beauty, diversity, and biodiversity, and to attract pollinators. Collectively, these measures met our clients' interests. Every has challenges, and our attention focused on differences in elevation of the patio space and existing tree roots from a large oak tree followed through by site planning and innovating grading solutions. Our team included quality craftsmanship and design and construction to achieve per client vision that visually and physically tied features to one another, and the overall landscape. The finished provided clients with functional and peaceful enjoyment of a truly beautiful outdoor area.
