- Provence on the Peninsula Greensleeves Garden Design is excited to introduce "Provence on the Peninsula," a significant landscape that merges the elegance of French provincial gardens with the natural beauty of the Peninsula region of California. This , located in the heart of Menlo Park, showcases our commitment to quality, creativity, and satisfied clients. At the design's core is a series of terraced gardens with aromatic lavender, rosemary, and Mediterranean-style plants that bring a unique fragrance and atmosphere to the outdoor space. Custom stone paths made from locally sourced flagstone provide circulation through the verdant gardens, and a rustic wooden pergola creates a perfect setting for relaxing and/enjoying outside meals. One of the major challenges for the was the slope of the property. The slopes created difficulties with the grading and drainage opportunities to provide an overall sustainable and long-lasting space. Our team overcame these specific challenges through advanced drainage systems and the strategic placement of retaining walls, which ultimately allowed for a really beautiful as well as functional outdoor space. This also engaged with eco-friendly practices and ongoing maintenance and care. For example, drought-resistant plants were used throughout as well as smart irrigation systems to conserve water without compromising a lush garden effect.
