About This Project

Belmont Back Yard by Greensleeves Garden Design Set amongst the established homes of Belmont, the 'Belmont Back Yard' by Greensleeves Garden Design changed a previously unused outside space into a beautiful retreat. Greensleeves serves a varied clientele within the regions of Palo Alto, Los Gatos, and Cupertino and is known for our attention to detail and creativity. We began the by assessing the existing landscape. The yard presented a fair amount of challenge due to uneven grades and poor drainage in the soil, but our team was able to level the area and amend the soil for a more viable environment for planting. It was important to our team to enhance the beauty of the space by using a combination of native and drought tolerant plants. One of the features of the backyard is the stunning custom stone patio completed with a locally sourced flagstone that compliments the landscaping and creates an inviting space for entertaining or relaxing, with a built-in fire pit surrounded by seating. Flowering shrubs and grasses were used to soften and provide color throughout the seasons while offering privacy around the patio. Another challenge faced in the yard was mostly shaded areas. We used shade tolerant plants, as well as a small trellis, to provide a visual element and a home to the climbing vines, creating a beautiful shaded spot to enjoy the yard. We also installed a drip system that furthered the message of being efficient with water usage while assuring health and longevity for all plants. The end product is a cohesive and captivating landscape that not only fulfilled the client’s wish for outdoor living areas, but also heightened the value of their home. The 'Belmont Back Yard' solidifies Greensleeves Garden Design’s commitment to quality, creativity, and customer satisfaction, as our clients are extremely happy with their improved space and look forward to enjoying their new outdoor room for many years to come.
