This started with a proper consultation where we discussed the timeless front yard aesthetic that the homeowner was looking for their entryway and how those architectural elements integrate with features of their home. The architect team carefully selected a palette of native plants along with conventional landscaping design- green grass lawns, flower beds, ornamental shrubs with careful placement to promote a homey feeling. We kept it high-end with materials, natural stone pathways that flow through the landscape, linking the driveway to the front porch. Oh, and did I mention that these pathways were not only beautiful, but they were meant to last a lifetime, as well? Finally, we kept the privacy while keeping an open and light feel by covering the new wood fence with decorative trellises filled with climbing vines. The property has a gentle slope which posed a challenge; it was one of the more substantial headaches we had to overcome. Our team carefully installed tiered garden beds to provide a functional yet aesthetically pleasing layout that provided better drainage and less erosion. This stunning solution increased the aesthetics of the landscape and preserved the plants for a long time. It was a massive transformation that has culminated in a wonderful front yard, combining an artful sense of place and tradition with functional landscaping.
