We used this to reflect our quality, creativity, and attention to detail. Our first step was understanding the current landscape, then determining where we could introduce traditional elements that complement the home. This home in the front yard has a detailed pathway of natural bluestone pavers inviting guests to a hearty home entrance with colorful perennial flower beds. Creating a year-round color and texture, we curated a palette of azaleas, hydrangeas, ornamental grasses, and other flora, many of which are native to the region for both sustainability and ecology benefits. The wide-open back yard, spread across a gentle slope that we are tackling by building tiered garden beds, making a great landscape feature as well as helping drainage and soil. To make a shaded getaway, they put in a classy wood pergola, which is gradually luckily covered by climbing plants. A natural stone seating area completes this space with a perfect gathering point for family and friends around a cozy fire pit. We used weather-resistant wood and made use of high-quality, sustainable mulch (but this part has actually become a recent issue apparently!). Here, the crew had to address many hurdles with the drainage of the site and executed a rain garden/ French drain plan to help alleviate water issues. The end result is a stunning, traditional-meets-modern landscape that perfectly combines livable space with tranquil escape. Our clients loved the impact, noting the intentionality in the design and implementation process.
