SIMPLISTIC FRONT & BACK YARD LANDSCAPE Type: Residential Landscape Architect: Blount Designs With much pride we bring the latest transformation here at Blount Designs, our 'Simplistic Front & Back Yard Landscape.' A beautiful design that is a symbol of exquisite work done up to the mark. Created for various communities such as Addison, Carrollton, and Dallas, this work was designed to complement the natural beauty and character of the house. It started with a detailed consultation to gauge what the client envisioned and liked.) We had a lot of work to do, both outdoors on sloped land and in terms of thoughts and ideas. We used tiered landscaping with natural stone retaining walls to transition from the back yard to the front yard to provide support, as well as beautification. The design for our front yard was more of a low maintenance blend of drought resistant plants ranging from ornamental grasses to perennials with careful plant arrangement to add seasonal interest. A winding path of permeable pavers winds its way to the entry, allowing for drainage while looking good. The use of natural stone and neutral colors complements the façade of the home and creates a warm, inviting space. Her back yard was a peaceful retreat: a comfy sitting area eased at the edge of a lush green backdrop. To provide shade to the family and allow them to spend time outdoors throughout the year, we installed a custom built pergola. Adding a small water feature which not only acts as a centre of attraction but also acts as an ambience creator. The ecological side of the design was emphasised by choosing native plants to reduce the amount of irrigation, and to support the local fauna. Blount Designs took on the unique challenges that this presented with attention to detail and an emphasis on the sustainable design principles. The outcome is a beautiful landscape that is functional and provides enjoyment to our clients, in use their outdoor living space.
