To begin the , we conducted an extensive review of the property to help us better understand the identity of the site and its quirks which included inherent problems such uneven landscapes or limited sunlight. After uncovering these site facts, we developed a comprehensive solution that relies on terraced planting beds for the purposes of drainage and the layering of planting material. We incorporated native perennials as well as traditional boxwood hedges with the goal of maintaining a traditional approach while supporting native and local biodiversity. During the process, we relied on high-end materials, such as natural stone for walkways and patios, to create a seamless transition from the interior to the exterior. Use of reclaimed brick for the driveway created another characterful element to the design while also allowing the client to feel good restoring, retaining, and repurposing. Custom-built seating areas paired with carefully selected and elegant wrought iron, were included to provide the client with a level of comfort fit for a friend’s house. Nighttime lights were installed around the landscape to enhance the extraordinary space. During the life of the , our steadfast team carefully worked through many obstacles around the presence of mature trees to ensure we produced positive, successful outcomes while retaining natural beauty. We creatively employed design and effective advances in order to execute a successful landscape that ties in with this home’s architecture. The outcome is a stunning outdoor space for the client that adds to their lifestyle.
