Outdoor Comfort by Terra Ferma Landscapes Located in the heart of the Bay Area, we are proud to introduce the ‘Outdoor Comfort’ , which exemplifies our goal of crafting comfortable yet functional outdoor spaces. Serving Burlingame, Hillsborough, San Francisco, San Mateo, Atherton, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, Portola Valley, Larkspur, Kentfield, Belvedere, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, and Saratoga communities, this has transformed a large residential backyard into a beautiful getaway. The design weaves together elements of landscaping including a custom-built stone patio for family and friends to gather, surrounded by beautiful native plantings to attract neighborhood wildlife. Quality materials were selected for their longevity and sustainability as well as their aesthetic appeal such as Belgard pavers and natural granite boulders. The soothing atmosphere was enhanced with a water feature displaying a cascading fountain, and outdoor lighting strategically placed to highlight the beauty of the landscape after dark. An interesting challenge we contended with was the slope of the property which required creative approaches to soil drainage and stability. Our team created tiered garden beds of natural stone retaining walls to allow a smooth transition, set up on the level portions of the garden, while creating a rich planting area for vibrant flowers and fragrant herbs. This dealt with the slope and also added interest to the overall landscape. The finished product of ‘Outdoor Comfort’ is the perfect combination of sophistication and function, providing the homeowners a private space for relaxation and entertaining people. Our attention to detail and dedication to quality craftsmanship created the homeowners’ vision into a beautiful retreat, and they were thrilled with their new outdoor living area.
