Green Grass Landscape Contractors' Courtyard Facelift Green Grass Landscape Contractors is excited to present the "Courtyard Facelift", a landscaping endeavor that has changed the way our client in Mount Pleasant, SC,utilizes their outdoor living space. The motivational component of this was to update an existing dated courtyard to improve the appearance and usability, while maintaining visual compatibility with the beachfront in the Lowcountry of Charleston. We began the with an in-depth site analysis & observations, including sunlight limitations and drainage improvements. The design process includes the careful selection of drought-resistant plants native to the Lowcountry of Charleston. Plants that can withstand extreme weather events, as well as support local biodiversity were chosen with great diligence. The final plant palette is a rich layering of vibrant flowering shrubs, ornamental grasses, and lush ferns forming a pleasing landscape of varied colors and textures. To improve the usability of the courtyard, we constructed a flagstone patio from locally harvested stone! The flagstone is a beautiful expression of nature that naturally complements our beautiful, local landscape. We used this durable & semi-permanent material to create a patio space for family and friends to gather. Complementing the concept of the patio is the curved pathways of decomposed granite. The happy addition of the curved paths adds playfulness and functionality to the experience of the visitor crisscrossing within luscious greenery. In addition to landscaping plant & patio space, we wanted to provide a focal point, so we installed artisan tile water feature to create sound calming ambiance in the courtyard. Integrating the water feature into the existing site layout provided not only a soothing retreat, but also could be utilized as needed for maintaining our blessings of natural dedicated beauty. In consideration of aesthetics and usability, we completed a Courtyard Facelift that our client is wholeheartedly thrilled in one weekend. They will enjoy both collective outdoor living space for family and friend as well as improve the curb appeal of their property. Our client's excitement is validation, is passion shines in and through relationships with our clients.
