Stately Tabby and Brick The 'Stately Tabby and Brick' , completed by Green Grass Landscape Contractors, merges the old school antebellum feel of traditional Southern, historical architecture, with contemporary landscaping methods. Located in the heart of Charleston, this reinvented an existing residential , requiring careful consideration of both aesthetics and functionality. The accomplishment is an outdoor living area centered around a tabby shell concrete patio that transitions into a classic red-brick path. Tabby is a coastal material that has existed for centuries, standing the test of time, while respecting the same materials used in traditional Lowcountry homes. The brick, sourced from local suppliers, will imitate authentic red-brick designs of Lowcountry homes but have all of the necessary (structural) durability for a patio and walkway application, while creating a warm and inviting space for family gatherings and entertaining. Green Grass Landscape Contractor faced unique challenges in that the site was uneven and had existing vegetation. Our adept team leveled the landscape to the appropriate recommended slopes for attenuation and erosion, all while maintaining established oak trees to provide shade and character. Native plantings that grow well in the area, including azaleas and ferns, also serve to enhance the landscape's natural beauty. The end result is visually stunning that achieves form as well as function. The clients were especially happy with the fluid transition from the patio onto the organized garden beds that provide a spectrum of color throughout the seasons, taking into consideration foliage color and texture. The added ambient lights along the paths create a magical evening space to share with friends and family.
