About This Project

Needham Family Yard At a Blade of Grass, we pride ourselves on creating beautiful outdoor spaces that reflect the vision and lifestyle of our customers. Located in the vibrant town of Needham, we combined our innovative design and craftsmanship skills to make the 'Needham Family Yard.' This major landscaping consisted of a full backyard design that was previously unusable and unattractive. Our team started by performing a comprehensive evaluation of the space and the family's needs for relaxation, recreation, and entertainment in the outdoors. A custom stone patio is one of the highlights of the , featuring locally quarried bluestone that complements the site. It offers a robust but also beautiful surface ideal for family dining and get-togethers. Accompanying the patio we created a lush garden that includes flowering perennials and native shrubs, ensuring colour and texture through all four seasons while attracting birds, bees, and butterflies. We then added a natural cedar fence, broken up with a combination of climbing vines to provide privacy from the road and a more tranquil setting. Moreover, the property was also a hillside so we designed multiple tiers of raised beds with decorative retaining walls out of reclaimed granite. It made the yard whole not just in function but also in beauty. The end result of the was ambient landscape lighting to uplight the most beautiful aspects of exploration in this yard, as well as a level of safety and security. The finished product, dubbed by the family the 'Needham Family Yard', is a beautiful, functional oasis that the family enjoys. They were thrilled with the transformation and commented that the space fits their lifestyle and provides a calm environment from which they can entertain. We are proud to have contributed to the beauty of the Needham community in the Hope of echoing a legacy of enjoyment for the Needham family long into the future at 'a Blade of Grass'
