Belmont Family Garden by Greensleeves Garden Design Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the Belmont Family Garden exemplifies the artistry of Greensleeves Garden Design. Covering multiple communities, from Atherton to Woodside, the team developed a standard suburban yard into an incredible outdoor space for the Belmont family’s lifestyle. This particular initiated with the Esthetics Plan, where we worked closely with the family to visualize their ideas. The design efficiently integrates California native plants, drought tolerant landscaping, and spaces that meet the family's functional outdoor needs. A stone path gracefully weaves through richly planted flower beds occupied by exciting blooms while rocks serve as artful seating accents. One of the major challenges presented to the team was the sloped property. Tiered garden beds were engineered and constructed with locally-sourced flagstone. The flagstone retaining wall is beautiful, adds visual interest to the landscape, and prevents soil erosion. Adding a dimensional space also allowed for smaller, edible garden beds that the family could trial for any herbs and vegetables they wished to grow. To help create an 'evergreen oasis', trees and shrubs were selected for seasonal interest. Fragrant lavender was chosen as well as a maple tree for its marvelous fall color. An efficient irrigation system was used to also meet our eco-friendly offense, allowing the family to enjoy the garden with minimal water use. The end result is a tranquil place for the family to reside with dignity. The Belmont Family Garden is now an aesthetic outdoor garden for entertaining, gardening or just relaxing with the family. Their fire pit area, in the center of the outdoor space, acts as the focal point when the family gathers or celebrate a special event. Beyond aesthetics, this improved curb appeal while the family sits and just relaxes with family or friends to enjoy where they live.
