Wisconsin Riverside Residence At Hilscher Design and Ecology, we have finished the Wisconsin Riverside Residence , showcasing an impressive conversion that merges nature with modern living. This concise property along the St. Croix River posed challenging site features, including relative steepness and variable soil conditions. Our talented team of landscape professionals put their best effort forth creating a landscape that accentuates the aesthetics of the home, and captures the beauty of the surroundings. The highlights of the included a beautifully designed multi-level patio consisting of 100% locally sourced natural stone, creating a transition from the indoors to the outdoors. We created native plant gardens that support biodiversity and have low maintenance requirements while featuring blooms in all seasons. A unique irrigation system was implemented to provide for the sustainable management of water and address the properties varied drainage needs. Finally we created a winding pathway leading to an area with a seating arrangement to relax riverside and experience the views of the property. This pathway features hand-picked boulders and native grasses which fall in line with the surrounding ecology and provide stability on the hillside. Throughout the , we worked through challenges, such as erosion control and solar exposure for plant growth. Our team utilized their creative problem-solving skills to overcome these problems with quality materials and effective designs to create a resilient landscape. At the end of the , we created an exquisite outdoor oasis that adds worth to the property but also provides a friendly space with family and solitude.
