Lisa Gimmy and her team of professionals used drought resistant plant material, carefully positioned to provide color and texture throughout the year, while intentionally reducing water usage in the LA climate. A beautiful element of the Craftsman Estate is the custom stone pathway made from flag stone that was locally sourced, guiding guests through the lush gardens to the outdoor living area with built-in entertaining capabilities. A custom wood pergola that guarantees shaded comfort for dining is featured at this space. The reclaimed wood from the original property is used to tie the beams to the craftsman style of the estate. Throughout the duration of the , Lisa and her team faced challenges, which included leveling of uneven terrain and an existing irrigation system that needed to be brought up to standards related to water use efficiency in order to maintain the plant material. By working closely with a licensed engineer they were able to successfully re-grade the landscape to provide slopes conducive to the success of plant material, while also designing a modern irrigation solution that employed smart technology to manage water use while keeping plant life healthy. The result is an absolutely gorgeous outdoor sanctuary that relates so well to the original estate architecture, that the area can now provide a beautiful location to relax and entertain family or friends outdoors.
