Poolside Lounging by Terra Ferma Landscapes Located in the center of Burlingame, the Poolside Lounging by Terra Ferma Landscapes turned an ordinary backyard into a luxurious retreat that fits the client's lifestyle. This beautiful landscape design features a stunning in-ground pool and a custom-built deck made of high-end and sustainably sourced ipe wood. The wood not only looks great, but is durable and weather-resistant. The pool is the true centerpiece, surrounded by greenery, native California plantings, and vibrant succulents, along with fragrant lavender, to make the experience beautiful and ecological. Natural stone pathways were selected to serve as a functional transition from the pool area into the gardens, and guides visiting guests through the peaceful outdoor escape. The challenge of the was the existing unevenness of the grade of the area. We were successful overcoming the grading issue, while we also needed to create a drainage solution for any runoff to ensure it was directed away from the pool, while still preserving the landscape around it. To enhance the lounging experience, custom seating was added around the pool using weather-resistant performance fabric in warm earth tones that harmonizes with the landscape flora. Smartly located outdoor lighting, also transformed the outdoor space into a magical retreat at night, allowing the clients usage of the space long after sunset. The final outcome is a beautiful poolside experience and client became delightfully happy combining luxury with nature in their inviting and functional space!
