⊕Hillside Garden by Christian Duvernois Landscape/Studio Showcasing the artistry within Christian Duvernois Landscape/Studio, the 'Hillside Garden' weaves complex water features into the contours of a hillside. An outdoor oasis created out of sloped terrain, this was built in the bustling communities of Inwood, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island, The Hamptons and Bridgehampton. It consists of native plants, ornamental plants that will be more suitable to grow in the surrounding environment and soil type. Locally sourced stone was used for terracing, and weather-resistant hardwood was used for pathways ─ all sustainable materials selected to not only stand the test of time, but be in harmony with the environment. One of the main concerns with the site was its drainage, and this was handled brilliantly with an elaborate rain garden. It literally made the garden more carbon neutral and also gave visual interest. The end product is a beautiful landscape that blends with nature. Clients comments: "We LOVE the tiered seating areas for gathering and the wandering trails that make it feel almost parc like" Calm water feature creates a peaceful atmosphere, and well-placed lights display the evening beauty of the garden. This encapsulates the detail-oriented approach to quality that is unique to Christian Duvernois Landscape/Studio, and is sure to leave clients and visitors alike breathless with fascination in its presence.
