The “Maney Residence - San Elijo Hills” is a stunning example of the quality and innovation we bring to the landscaping field. Located centrally in the exquisite community of San Elijo Hills, the is broad mix that comprises a rich palate of sustainable materials; native plants; and elegant design elements, which enhances the natural beauty of the location. Our team thoughtfully developed a multi-leveled installation using locally sourced stone for retaining walls to serve the site functionally and aesthetically. We chose colorful and lively drought-tolerant plants to create a lush and vibrant landscape that thrives in the coastal environments while minimizing water use. Strategically placed flowering shrubs, ornamental grasses, and succulent plant choices added more blooms and texture, while drawing local pollinators and biodiversity to the garden. Perhaps one of the biggest challenges addressed with this was the steep topography in the site, which did require innovative solutions for proper grading and drainage, as well as accessibility. We incorporated semi-permeable pathways through the garden space, assisting in the rainwater runoff issue, while providing a proper flow through the garden space. We also built a custom irrigation system, providing effective water delivery to the plants without wasting valuable water resources, demonstrating our attention to sustainability. The end result is a beautiful outdoor “sanctuary” that embodies the client’s vision for a tranquil and functional outdoor space. With several gathering and lounging spaces, and noticeable and tranquil water features, and every detail in the design, was devoted to providing a sanctuary for family, friends, and gardening. The clients were overjoyed and expressed to us that the landscaping provided curb appeal to the house and created an intentional essence making the entire a priority and harmony with the other homes and the wider area.
