Modern Tiburon Backyard by Bon Terra Landscapes Inc. Located in the scenic community of Tiburon, Bon Terra Landscapes Inc. created the Modern Tiburon Backyard to blend modern architecture with nature. What began as a thorough consultation to understand the client’s vision for outdoor space as a retreat in beautiful Marin County became an inspirational design. The included a mix of hardscape and softscape, featuring a custom-designed patio using high-quality porcelain tile that offered a clean, modern look while creating a durable and usable outdoor space. Additionally, locally sourced stone was implemented to create the retaining walls around the patio, dovetailing the with the rest of the property and providing even more durability to the slope of the property to stabilize drainage. A key element to the design was the water feature, which acted as an anchor point for the outdoor space's design while providing a tranquil sound. The water feature was designed using natural boulders, and with a recirculating pump that facilitated tranquil sounds to relax by. The water feature was surrounded by lush, low-water-use planting that followed the native plant palette of the area to promote ecological stewardship of the property. Through the , Bon Terra Landscapes Inc. integrated modern lines into the existing topography of the site. Our professional team implemented careful work with grading and drainage to ensure that the backyard could be enjoyed for many years, even with the seasonal rains. The outcome is an exquisite outdoor retreat that could be enjoyed as both a stylized backyard retreat and for functionality. The clients now have a beautiful space to entertain friends and family, with light for use even after dark.
