The process behind this started with a vision from our customer who wanted to form a retreat within their back yard with the elements that saw their home design. We needed to come up with a space that acted as a hub for entertaining their guests, but also blended into its surroundings without taking it over. We have chosen a variety of materials carefully to achieve a clean, modern aesthetic. Durable, low-maintenance porcelain pavers laid in a geometric design that creates an eye-catching foreground fill the patio. To boarder the patio, we included healthy, native plant beds that offer a colorful contrast while enticing local pollinators. An LED landscape lighting system had been installed to create soft glowing silhouettes of the plants while leaving the hardscape textured at night. The backyard is on a slope and posed one of the major challenges that we needed to deal with, so the land needed to be graded and a small retaining wall needed to be put in place from natural stone. In addition to providing stability to the design, it also brought an organic touch that complements the modern design language. Our team made sure that every aspect was handled from drainage to the exact placement of the pavers. The end result is a beautiful Contemporary Patio Space that our client love.
