Stream Bank by Le Jardinet Le Jardinet is excited to share our 'Stream Bank' located within the Greater Seattle area. This property highlights a beautiful transformation of a natural stream that provides functionality and aesthetic appeal in nurturing areas from Ames Lake to Woodinville. The site presented unique challenges with sections of the stream bank eroded and overrun by invasive species. Our work began with a thorough site assessment and the plantings were guided by that assessment. We utilized a multi-faceted palette of native plant families including ferns, sedges, and flowering shrubs, each selected for the purpose of stabilization and intention of re-establishing native habitats. Our team employed locally sourced stone in a sequence of bioengineering methods (i.e. rock recharges and live stakes) that improved the bank and filtration of water flow. We struggled through many challenges on this particular site to care for the delicate ecosystems encircling the stream. Our team organized execution in phases during construction, this enabled little disruption to wildlife and aided in seamless integration to the new landscape. Due to innovativeness and diligence, we removed invasive species and ultimately created conditions that allowed native plants to prosper, restoring biodiversity. The end result is a vibrant, native, eco-friendly stream bank that enhances the overall beauty of the property and nurtures a lovely environment. We are pleased to report the client was extremely happy with the outcome of the and are thankful the magic of how natural elements fluidly combined with a stream.
