About This Project

### Houston Estate - Rustic At McDugald-Steele, we take fine outdoor spaces and remodel them into wonderful landscapes that reflect our clients' visions. Our entitled “Houston Estate - Rustic” was a quality and creative mission because we were working in a high-end aspect of Houston, including River Oaks and West University Place. The objective for this was to create a warm rustic feel while carefully melding with its natural surroundings. The landscape consisted of native plants, selected for their resilience and beauty. There were natural stone hardscapes that wound through the and invited one to explore. Reclaimed woods were also included as borders of garden areas to reflect the rustic feel and the owner also wanted a sustainable aspect. A challenge with this estate was that the land was not even. Our landscape avoidance specialist handled grading the land and drainage while keeping the natural contour the land had to showcase the land's character. We were able to create multi-tier existing garden beds that displayed their colourful plant palette each season. To help authentically feel the rustic style, we constructed and build a natural wood pergola for a shaded area for owners to take in their garden. It was dressed with crawling vines, which added a mystique to outdoor living. We also installed outdoor lighting to illuminate the pathways and foliage at night to create a fairytale element. Overall, the final product exceeded the owners' expectation, and we turned their estate into a peaceful escape and comfortable mix of rustic charm and local elegance. Our Houston Estate - Rustic reflects the quality design build abilities of McDugald-Steele, which displays our passion to develop landscape that inspire and delight.
