About This Project

Lombard Residence KDTurner Design is pleased to present the Lombard Residence, a landscaping we thoroughly enjoyed developing. Located in the community of Boxford, we overcame unique challenges regarding the sloping terrain and a focus on sustainability that blended harmoniously into the natural features. In the analysis of the site, we examined the aesthetics versus functionality and established a balance. Native plants were included to promote biodiversity, while local granite was used to construct custom stone walkways and gardens, providing plenty of functional use with a lasting approach. A water feature incorporated into the design created a destination experience that was appealing to the local wildlife as well as for the homeowners to energize or escape into the garden experience. A kaleidoscope of colors was reserved that included perennials, ornamental grasses, and seasonal bloomsthis selection of plants would reveal interest through multiple seasons. An unforeseen challenge was managing the drainage water on the steep slope of the site! So, in true problem-solving fashion, we added a beautifully-designed rain garden, which used strategically placed, native plants that would capture excess runoff, regardless of whether stormwater management was included in the original plans! This unique feature offer ecological balance and aesthetics. The result is a beautiful outdoor environment that contains functionality for years of enjoyment! The Lombard residence has vibrant planting beds, inviting pathways, and a soothing environment for the clients' lifestyle. KDTurner Design prided ourselves in creating an outdoor scenic experience in the that words cannot describe. Our clients are pleased for the work we provided them, and the surrounding community enjoys too!
