Studio Suite Landscaping from D-CRAIN Design and Construction The team at D-CRAIN Design and Construction is thrilled to share the 'Studio Suite' landscaping , a remarkable renovation located in the beautiful community of West Lake Hills. This is a perfect example of D-CRAIN values - excellence, creativity, and connection with nature, while providing landscaping s for clients that cater to their individual needs in Austin and nearby communities, such as Barton Creek, Lost Creek, Rollingwood, Shady Hollow, and Sunset Valley. The Studio Suite includes an outdoor living area that has been thoughtfully designed to provide continuity with the existing landscape. The patio unites the area with large-scale bluestone coping - a long-lasting outdoor surface to accommodate outdoor activities. The edges of the patio are planted with a range of native plants and ornamental grasses that will thrive in the weather conditions, while inviting butterflies and hummingbirds. Enhancing the vitality of the plants is an irrigation system that conserves water and brings the landscape to life. The most significant challenge to the was the uneven slope of the site; problem-solving ecological design solutions to create levels that were visually appealing, encouraged outdoor usage, and minimized the potential for erosion took mid to high levels of abstract thinking. The landscape team implemented terraces and other naturally processed stone retaining walls to execute this goal. The retained walls are not only a visual focal point but also help mitigate soil erosion. Also, the landscape reflects mood with soft ambient lighting throughout, allowing the clients to experience the outdoor room into the evening.
