Redwood City Zen Greensleeves Garden Design is excited to announce our latest 'Redwood City Zen' as a new landscaping focused on peace and nature. Located in the heart of Redwood City, California, our vision was to achieve a modern look and feel that incorporates natural materials in a peaceful setting for the homeowners. The focal point of the landscape is a well formed Zen garden that includes a raked gravel bed, a series of artful river stones, and one prominent Japanese maple that invites eye movement to think and contemplate. Around the Zen garden, lots of native plants were added that will thrive in the environment within an effort to improve sustainability and beauty. The pathway has impermeable pavers to help with aesthetic beauty and to also assist with drainage, meeting hydrology concerns of the area. One of the primary challenges we had to overcome was the slope of the property, which needed to overcome drainage and stability issues. Accordingly, the team developed a series of tiered planters which helped solve the problem and also added interest in verticality to the landscape. All materials used for the were carefully selected with an emphasis on good quality natural elements such as rocks and plants that are sustainably harvested and in accordance to the environment. The completed is a stunning oasis that our clients are in love with and provides a peaceful place to enjoy the outdoors. Redwood City Zen is a reflection of how Greensleeves Garden Design operates, in regards to emphasis on quality, detail, care for creating a beautiful outdoor space that compliments the immediacy and the environment. This has added to the value of their property and at the same time changed the lives of those who live there. A true 'Redwood City Zen'.
