About This Project

Classic - Round 2 Completed for Wantland Ink Landscape Architecture, PLLC. Situated in the heart of Nashville, this aptly titled "Classic - Round 2" is an example of Wantland Ink Landscape Architecture's commitment to providing timeless, outdoor places tailored to the individual needs of each client. This vibrant northeast neighborhood serves clients in Belle Meade, Brentwood, Forest Hills, Oak Hill, and surrounding areas each day. With this , we completely reimagined an existing space with aesthetic appeal and utility in mind. The began with an existing layout that had a sense of order while integrating native plantings for sustainability and maintenance reduction. The materials sourced for the , including stone for retaining walls and pathways, were of high quality and extracted locally, increasing commensurability and meaningfulness with the site in mind. Using permeable pavers not only added visual interest, but improved stormwater drainage in a heavy stormwater area. We had multiple challenges to navigate in the area (i.e. an uneven site with existing trees) and used creative grading solutions and plant placement to improve the site. We worked hard to incorporate hardscaping, including beautiful seating areas and custom fire pits into the landscape while remaining unobtrusive to their surroundings. The results were a spectacular outdoor room that the client loved, which showcased form and function. The gardens were alive with colorful perennials and placed pathways, creating rooms in the landscape for the clients while still remaining usable outdoor space. With all of the addressed and an expectation of quality in mind, Wantland Ink Landscape Architecture, PLLC worked with the clients to create a landscape that expresses the classic beauty they envisioned while improving their lived experience for many years to come.
