Summary: Lakehouse Retreat by Pellettieri Associates, Inc. Located by a quiet lake, the exterior landscape design of ‘Lakehouse Retreat’, a completed by Pellettieri Associates, Inc., creates the synergy of the natural setting with the surrounding built environment. Serving the beautiful community of Andover, Boscawen, and beyond, our design team was tasked to update this property to an elegant lakeside retreat, celebrating the natural setting of the space. To begin the , we conducted a comprehensive site analysis to understand the specifics on the unique topography and hydrology. One of the most significant challenges was to design and build a sustainable landscape that could withstand the weather conditions, while still enhancing the natural features of the site. By utilizing endemic plant species to establish a sustainable ecosystem, we succeeded in resiliency, maintanability, and the local biodiversity in the new landscape. Leg Gippl ISIA The significant features included a stunning stone top terrace fitted from regional granite, which successfully blended into the site. Besides a perfect location for relaxation and entertainment, an opposing chamber of lake improvement and erosion occurred. Adjacent to the terrace was filled with a range of drought tolerant perrenials, seasonal colors, and ornamentals grasses - all collectively reflecting a picturesque view both from the water and the shore liner. Gippl ISIA To achieve the proper sight lines, we crafted a meandering reclaimed wood path to the cozy firepit pit, where family and friends can gather on the evenings to observe the night sky. Our design team considered adding the low voltage lighting to maintain safety along the pathway perimeter while keeping the natural environment intact. The finished consisted of a breathtaking landscape that met the client’s expectations of the 'Lakehouse Retreat'. The client expressed delight in the detail and craftmanship of the . Overall, the functional and creative landscape reflects a serene and peaceful retreat where family and guests can enjoy the new improvements for years.
