Situated on the tranquil shore of a scenic lake, the "Lake Front Beach Design" by Pellettieri Associates, Inc. perfectly marries natural splendor with practical outdoor living. From the township of Andover, to Boscawen, Bradford, and elsewhere, we created a new lakeside beach retreat, establishing a refreshing space that is conducive to relaxation, recreation, and escape from the daily grind. The began with an extensive site analysis, inclusive of soils and vegetation, which informed a site-appropriate design that aligned with the site's existing natural condition. We addressed other concerns, particularly drainage and erosion control, due to the site's slope to water. With a proper combination of native plantings and decorative boulders, we created an aesthetically pleasing landscape capable of maintaining environmental integrity. A highlighted feature of the design included the large sandy beach area of high-quality environmentally-conscious sand. This incredible sandy surface became an optimal space for tanning, family gatherings, and a safe place for children. Fringing the beach area is a lasting, composite boardwalk that elegantly marries grass to sandy beach, while still providing a durable, practicable transition from the beach to the lawn area. The overall experience of the site is enhanced with native plantings of ornamentals and perennials that bloom throughout the seasons, living garden areas attractive to wildlife, and decorative seating areas constructed from natural stone, complete with fire pits inviting gathering around cozy evenings. Site-appropriate and strategically placed and spaced, lighting throughout creates an additional ambiance for luminous visual appeal throughout the experience of the lakeside retreat after dark. The end product of our efforts ultimately was a spectacular lakeside recreational retreat in excess of that requested by our client. Attention to detail with high quality craftsmanship created a beautiful, functional, and sustainable space for all to enjoy for generations to come.
