Orange, CT Koi Pond by Gardens by Design of Connecticut, LLC Located in the tranquil setting of Orange, Connecticut, the “Orange, CT Koi Pond,” showcases the skill and creativity of Gardens By Design of Connecticut, LLC. This large-scale landscape included the planning and installation of a peaceful koi pond that was seamlessly integrated into its environment while offering a restful retreat for the owners. Initially, we evaluated the site. By fully understanding the existing topography and features, we were able to customize the pond's design. Natural stone and a good pond liner were selected to create the desired aesthetic and ensure a lasting, functional pond shell. The planned pond would include a gentle slope making it easily accessible and easy to maintain for the koi and the family. The included working into the existing landscape, which had mature trees and existing plantings. Our skilled craftsmen and women were able to keep the site's natural beauty while also selecting plantings to complement the site. Aquatic plants, such as water lilies and lotus flowers, were added, enhancing the valued visual interest and providing habitat for the koi. We leveraged a natural filtration system that incorporates the floodplain vegetation to keep it clean and clear. Additionally, we included peaceful waterfalls to produce a soft sound, enhancing the serene landscape. The end result is a beautiful koi pond, a magnificent focal point in the landscape, while also encouraging biodiversity and ecological balance. The owners were thrilled with the new pond and the ability to have such an oasis in their backyard to relax in from time to time and host family gatherings.
