Colorful Watershed Front Landscape Ketti Kupper Conscious Life Design is excited to unveil the 'Colorful Watershed Front Landscape' , one that illustrates our emphasis on quality and sustainability. This , situated in a beautiful part of Pasadena, was designed for both aesthetic and ecological functionality. The landscape incorporates a stunning variety of native plants with colorful characteristics and low water requirements that support biodiversity while decreasing the environmental footprint of the landscape. A beautiful dry riverbed runs through the front yard, and acts as a natural drainage solution that controls erosion in the landscape and supports the health of the watershed. A unique design feature, the dry riverbed provides a water management response that is visually dynamic and works well with all of the architecture. Throughout the , high-quality organic materials were sourced locally, including permeable pavers that allow water to infiltrate rather than runoff and recharge the groundwater. Artistic boulders and natural stone pathways contribute texture and scale while facilitating exploration and connect with nature. An interesting design opportunity was to deal with the existing soil conditions, which required intensive amendments and close planning for the longevity of our plant material. The plant/site team punctually addressed these opportunities with green infrastructure measures to build a healthy, sustainable landscape. This is a fabulous front yard that additionally supports curbside appeal, and which aligns well with our client’s vision for their outdoor space.
