Front Yard Turf, Completed by Quetzal Landscapes, Inc. Quetzal Landscapes, Inc. is pleased to announce the completion of the “Front Yard Turf” ; a landscape we recently completed for a particular client that lives in the lovely community of La Jolla. The goal of this was to upgrade the curb appeal of this lovely home with new turf and a contemporary landscape that would offer the client an ideal mix of style and durability. The installation of the turf was an intricate planning and implementation process to allow the use of high-quality, environmentally sustainable synthetic grass that replicates the color and feel of natural grass yards while offering contributive benefits to hot weather conditions prevalent in exterior landscapes, like La Jolla. The turf we utilized was selected based on color, UV protection, and drainage capabilities. The end product is a residential turf yard and landscape that looks lush all year long without fear of local wildlife and winds we often experience in coastal climates. With every , we face challenges; we encountered three challenges related to this residential backyard property. The slope of the front yard created the need for grading and drainage strategies to avoid pooling and erosion issues. Our team had to work through the process of reshaping the landscape with a slight slope plan to solve site issues but arguably improve functionality and visual aesthetics. In addition we were able to bring in natural stone edging for the turf element to encompass the turf versus lawn boundary and existing plants that previously delineated the site into represent a fancier aspect of the turf nature of the landscape. To round off the aesthetic to the backyard, we introduced a number of drought-tolerant native plants around the turf to add a complementary contrast as well as to attract our local pollinators of our landscape to the property. The end product is a stunning home landscape at the front yard that blends beauty and utility, while also being friendly to the environment and the needs of our client, while enhancing the beauty at home in La Jolla.
