Rochelle, VA #3 by Sunny Pond LLC At Sunny Pond LLC, our mission to bring a high-quality approach and unique design style to outdoor spaces is reflected in our work on Rochelle, VA #3. Located in beautiful Virginia, our work focused on using our best skills to integrate functional environments with beauty. During our time with the clients, our team sought to fulfill the client's request for a peaceful outdoor and backyard extension of the family home. As a primary focus, we developed a custom flagstone patio that would be utilized for relaxing and entertaining. Hand-selected stone sourced locally was used for the patio, allowing it to marry the surrounding natural area while delivering on our promise to be sustainable in design and materiality. To accompany the expanded retreat and patio, we thoughtfully procured a beautiful selection of native plantings, such as colorful azaleas and fragrant ornamental grasses. We felt this was important not only for seasonal interest, but also to encourage neighborhood plant and insect diversityimportant to us as an ecological approach. Our talented team identified that the backyard was not level and created a tiered garden to resolve this issue, while enhancing both depth and interestalong with the functioning design for appropriate drainage. The resulted in a tranquil water feature, a cascading fountain that provides focal interest, and invites the serenity of nature in water sound. Eco-responsible materials were applied throughout the landscape, including permeable pavers to minimize runoff and comply with our sustainability. At the end, Sunny Pond LLC provided a beautiful landscape that far exceeded the client expectations; alongside a functional outdoor space for every season. The clients are a perfect example of two important features here: visible aesthetic transformation and admiration for the craftsmanship performed by Sunny Pond, arguably "the best quality we've ever seen."
