About This Project

Summary: Austin Waterfront by McDugald-Steele McDugald-Steele completed a landscape renovation on the peaceful banks of the Austin Waterfront where nature and design come together. This serves the communities of Bellaire, Bunker Hill Village, Houston, Hunters Creek Village, Piney Point Village, Southside Place, West University Place, River Oaks, Memorial, Tanglewood, Stablewood, and Uptown, and demonstrates our commitment to quality and client service. The landscape was designed with a mix of native plants, ornamental grasses, and colorful perennials for year-round beauty and sustainability. We expanded our use of quality materials, including local stone for pathways and retaining walls, to enhance the aesthetic limits of the design and ensure they stand the test of time. A sizable obstacle during this was the slope of the site. Our team designed terraced garden beds, which elegantly managed drainage conditions, but also created fascinating layered landscapes. We carefully installed irrigation components to optimize the lush green landscapes while reducing water consumption. The final outcome is a gorgeous waterfront oasis that the client loves with tranquil seating, winding pathways, and a stunning water feature that reflect the beauty found in nature. McDugald-Steele is proud of the Austin Waterfront as an example of our attention to detail and love of creating outdoor spaces that inspire. We have also increased the value of the property and created a private oasis for the client to enjoy for many years into the future.
