Keystone Legacy Steps with Jelly Bean Pebble Recently, Quetzal Landscapes, Inc. finished up an incredible landscape d "Keystone Legacy Steps with Jelly Bean Pebble" in beautiful La Jolla. The goal was to beautify and utilize outdoor space for a home while tying it in with the natural coastal surroundings. The centerpiece of the is the carefully built Keystone Legacy Steps. These steps provide a classy transition from the home to the yard using durable keystone blocks, and are built to last while fabulously integrating into the landscape. Each step was carefully shaped and leveled to create a smooth and safe surface on a beautiful stone pathway that was transitioning elevations naturally. To complement the keystone steps, we incorporated a pebble called Jelly Bean to create a unique texture and added color dimension to the design. Whereas the pebbles are designed to allow for a natural and flowing passageway through the garden, pebbles are also helpful for drainage - due to the volatile weather patterns associated with the coast, gathered water may become stagnant and damage existing plants in the surrounding area. Additionally, there were other challenges associated with completing the that included tree roots and any established vegetation we were challenged with preserving. We were able to use our skill and knowledge to fit steps into the landscaping with as little of an impact as possible to surrounding plants, with quality craftsmanship being one of our goals. The end result was a delighted client who was very pleased in using the area as a multifunctional outdoor living space for friend and family gatherings, while also enjoying the space as a personal retreat. The finished stones not only highlighted the home and the curb appeal of the property, but also integrated the surrounding native plant life to create a welcoming design that arrived with a sense of style.
