Cues from Rome We are excited to present 'Cues from Rome', an elegant landscaping by Drake's 7 Dees Landscaping & Garden Center that embraces the timeless character of ancient Roman gardens while fitting seamlessly with the lifestyles of our Portland metropolitan area client base. Located in the center of Lake Oswego, this embodies a fusion of traditional and modern design, quality, and craftsmanship. At the heart of this garden is an impressive Romanesque travertine stone patio, surrounded by lush, native plantings that provide beauty and sustainability throughout the year. Fragrant herbs like rosemary and thyme complemented by flowering plants like lavender and salvia provide Mediterranean sensory delights. As an example, their property was sloped which posed one of the challenges that we encountered. Our experienced team created a number of terraced garden beds that were not only visually appealing, but improved the drainage and accessibility to the soil. Our stunning retaining walls built with locally sourced boulders discreetly copes with the topography without taking away from its natural beauty. The features custom-built pergolas covered with climbing plants that provide shaded seating areas ideal for outdoor dining. Gentle trickling water from an ornate fountain lent a soothing touch, creating the perfect setting for this Romanesque getaway. Through many challenges, ranging from dealing with drainage issues due to the site set up and resolving how the hardscape features tied in, we achieved a final product of beautiful landscape that encompassed the vision set forth for our clients and gave them the oasis they could escape to. Not merely a garden but a living testament to what 7 Dees Landscaping & Garden Center strives to accomplish: beautiful and functional outdoor spaces with a timeless touch'Cues from Rome'.
