Pool to Lovely Backyard Garden by Garden Nest Residential Landscape Located in the heart of the East Bay, Garden Nest Residential Landscape recently created a beautiful backyard garden escape a charming, relaxing retreat, in the middle of a large and fairly conventional pool area. With clients from Alameda, Alamo, Albany, out to Berkeley, our team took on this daunting with the desire to make the original poolscape mesh with nature. Detailed preparation was required to introduce the swimming pool in all surrounding greenery. Walking paths were designed to meander through the colorful native plantings and hardy flowering perennials which were done in part with pavers, and create a durable internal pathway, low upkeep and eco-friendly, and which inspire a health representational of the beauty used in creating the full . Windbreak plantings of ornamental grasses and flowering shrubs not only beautify the landscape, but also offer valuable habitat for native pollinators. A feature of the included a specially manufactured stone masonry retaining wall using local materials built to the property boundary. Not only does that create an aesthetic anchor point, but it also serves to mitigate soil erosion, as you can have tiered plantings with this wall, introducing depth and interest as well. We also had the issue of the land not being the most level which we creatively worked around with terraced beds that both lifted the overall design of the garden and also encouraged great drainage. For the outdoor experience, we designed a comfortable seating zone wrapped in aromatic herbs and soft plantings to lounge and entertain. To complete this, we have added up ambient lighting which will leave a soft glow over the garden during the night creating a magical ambience. Tthe result is a stunning backyard garden that complements the existing pool, creating a perfect space for family and friends to relax together in a peaceful environment. And our clients are happy with the transformation: Aside from the obvious note of delight that they enjoy the new space for many get-togethers to unwind and celebrate in!
