Tavormina by ServeScape Located in Alpharetta, the Tavormina embodies ServeScape’s focus on converting open spaces into beautiful retreats. This aspiring landscaping needed to balance between design, execution, and sustainability that was contextual to the property and its setting. One of the major focal points of Tavormina is the breathtaking tiered garden, featuring natural stone retaining walls that compliment the landscape. In addition to providing stability, the walls help fight erosion. We also took the careful step to include the use of native plants that further visually appeal to an all-year summertime garden. The plants were also purposefully selected to provide visual interest when in bloom and to be aesthetically pleasing to the local ecosystem, such as butterflies and bees, along with irrigating and propagating the landscape. Dealing with a site that had steep slopes was one of the major obstacles we faced at Tavormina. Our team approached each consequence with different tactics, yielding design possibilities and access points through the whole site. We added a series of winding pathways using permeable pavers that allow rainwater to filter back into the earth naturally. This allows our client options for their visitors to access the property, providing myriad ways and directions to explore. The permeability also helps facilitate the overall drainage system built throughout the property. The completion of Tavormina came with a water feature that brings both beauty and sound to the garden. The presence of the water feature provides a place to sit and seclude oneself from the outside world or to have an inviting conversation to catch up with friends day or night.
