Drought Tolerant Entry Slopes Ketti Kupper Conscious Life Design is excited to share the 'Drought Tolerant Entry Slopes' , an amazing evolution that joins beauty with sustainable landscaping for our clients in the heart of southern California. Located in the bustling areas of Pasadena and Glendale, the demonstrates how an eco-friendly design can work within an urban context. The goal was to create a welcoming space that increased curb appeal, while minimizing water use in a drought prone area. Our team focused on selecting a palette of drought-resistant plants, including native Californians like lavender, succulents, and ornamental grasses that thrive through the dry and desiccated conditions while remaining interesting throughout the year. The use thoughtfully chosen permeable pavers for our pathways assists water draining through so there is little runoff, allowing for water to seep back into the earth. The property had an existing steep slope that required us to terrace the space using local boulders and reclaimed wood for structural interest, ego and pattern. Terracing not only aided erosion issues but contributed depth and dimension to the landscape. Our crew and craftsmen worked hard to investigate and develop a plan of application of plants that were useful, accessible, beautiful, and safe in the . When it was finished, the entry way to the space gives the appearance of being swallowed in vegetation of different textures and vibrant colors while also caring the environment and sustainability. Our clients were delighted with the beauty and function of their new space and the transformation of their house.
