About This Project

Formal French - Savanna Designs, Inc. Savanna Designs, Inc. is excited to unveil the Formal French landscaping , an outstanding transformation in the heart of the Minneapolis and St. Paul Metro areas. This sophisticated design is a modern take on classic French gardens, respecting establishment and symmetry with plant selection, and a refined material palette. Our team has carefully placed formal hedgerows of geometrically pruned boxwoods creating a sense of order and sophistication to the design. To add to the beauty of the design, we added seasonal interest through lavender and peonies, placed in strategic locations to provide color and fragrance throughout the year. The use of natural stone for the walks, bordered with cobblestone paving, beckons visitors to walk through the landscape while easily guiding them through the rich layering of plantings. One of the challenges we faced was the property's natural topographyformed by water movementneeded grading and soil amendment as necessary to assure drainage and healthy plant establishment. Our professional team overcame this challenge by creating terraced planting beds providing visual appeal and function to the landscape. The final design is an exceptional space that mixes function and beauty. Upon seeing their vision executed completely, the clients were thrilled. They walked into their landscape to pure joy in experience. This is a lush refuge much in the spirit of Formal French design while respecting the surrounding landscape.
