St. Croix Retreat Savanna Designs, Inc. is excited to introduce the "St. Croix Retreat," an exquisite landscape that was recently completed in the breathtaking Minneapolis and St. Paul Metro areas. Our team took an anonymous outdoor space and transformed it into a quiet retreat where nature blends functionality into an outdoor oasis. The retreat has a well thought out plan that showcases a perfect mix of native Minnesota plants and hardscape. Savanna Designs, Inc. created a free-form granite pathway made of locally sourced granite to take the visitor through lush garden beds filled with perennials and ornamental grasses. The fire pit area, the focal point of the landscape, is complemented by comfortable and stylish seating , made of natural stone. The property had a significant challenge with its grade. Savanna Designs, Inc, developed a grading technique that created the tiered garden effect that aided drainage and enhanced aesthetics. Savanna Designs, Inc. also created an irrigation system that met the diverse plant materials needs while ensuring life through the seasons. Savanna Designs, Inc. provided sustainable materials and incorporated best practices, like rain gardens, to minimize stormwater runoff, and educate the natural habitat surrounding a structure. In turn, providing a beautiful outdoor landscape that brings value to the property and promotes sustainable practices. In the end, the "St. Croix Retreat" put a smile on our client's faces as they now have a well curated landscape that is an extension of their home. It is welcoming and provides visual access to the amazing outdoor structure.
