Backyard Retreat by Savanna Designs, Inc. Savanna Designs, Inc. is thrilled to showcase our latest landscaping , 'Backyard Retreat,' located in the Minneapolis and St. Paul Metro areas; it completely transformed our clients' outdoor living space. It is a beautiful retreat merging hardscapes and softscapes together, including a full custom stone patio, built with bluestone sourced within a few miles from the site, allowing our clients to utilize a stone, durable in maintenance, elegant for hosting. We included a peaceful water feature with a natural stone waterfall that flows into a placid pond, which invites wildlife to the landscape and soothes the senses. We designed lush perennial gardens to bloom through the seasons with exciting colors and textured plants that bring an effortless lifestyle; they are accessible to ponder but not overly work-intensive. One of the larger challenges we faced involved elevation change on the property. We engineered tiered landscaping features that incorporated natural stone for these retaining walls, providing stability and visual relief to the landscape. To enhance the , these walls were seamlessly integrated into the surrounding environment, accentuating the nearby nature. Sustainable solutions utilize plants native to Minnesota, which become established and resilient when exposed to the climate with little maintenance, providing habitat and forage to local pollinators. Lastly, we included energy-efficient outdoor lighting in our clients' space that was phased appropriately across pathways and focal points to allow the retreat to shine at night. The 'Backyard Retreat' wraps in style and substance, easing time for the clients to enjoy the space and assisted in enhancing the value of the property. It encourages relaxation while providing space to enjoy company, tying together the personal styles of the clients.
