Stillwater Woodland Home by Savanna Designs, Inc. Located in beautiful Stillwater, Minnesota, the Stillwater Woodland Home illustrates a lifestyle that blends nature and the modern era. Savanna Designs, Inc. took on the landscaping with the expectation that the outdoor space would evolve into a retreat that adds on to the existing woodland surroundings. The was completed with a variety of native plantings that will thrive in the microsite and are ultimately reflective of healthy, native plant communities. High quality materials, such as natural stone pathways and responsibly sourced lumber for the raised garden boxes, added to the resilience of the while respecting an organic and natural aesthetic. A custom water feature designed to resemble a low-stilted stream added visual interest as well as natural sounds to the space that will help the homeowner and guests rest and relax. The contained numerous challenges, including site elevation and rocky terrain. The skilled crews at Savanna Designs, Inc. recommended that the site undergo grading and incorporate retaining walls to control water runoff and prevent erosion. In turn, tiered garden spaces were developed for planting and social enjoyment while maintaining the integrity of the tiers.
